POEMS :

THE NEW OBA

[January 20, 2009:]

Neither the sun

Nor the moon

Changed its looks

In a penumbra

Of ecliptic apparel

But a lone little star

from the Black Orbit,

changed the colour of our world.

A new Oba installed,

not in the ancient Yoruba kingdom,

but in God’s own land,

to give mankind a new direction.

And a hope.

Oba…..ma

Monarch of the world

Epitome of black pride

You’re the black star,

That shines strong

In a white universe.
